Grow Africa Futures is working with banana farmers in Kisii County to strengthen their knowledge, skills, and opportunities for improved agricultural livelihoods.
Through our ongoing engagement with farming communities, our team is connecting with banana farmers to better understand the opportunities and challenges they face across the banana value chain. The initiative focuses on empowering farmers with practical knowledge while promoting sustainable and resilient agricultural practices.
Banana farming plays an important role in supporting households and local economies in Kisii County. However, farmers continue to face challenges including access to markets, production costs, limited access to information, post-harvest losses, and changing market conditions.
Our engagement seeks to place farmers at the center of solutions by listening to their experiences, understanding their needs, and identifying opportunities that can contribute to stronger and more sustainable banana value chains.
